Just a few thoughts on this day of Thanksgiving and praise...
As much as this history nerd would like to ramble on for pages about the story of the Pilgrims... I'll have to cut this short. The turkey is starting to get to me and I'm tiiiired.
But as much fascinating history is packed into this story, the concept behind that first Thanksgiving day is simple. After years of hardships and conflict, those few brave souls found peace and plenty. And they gave thanks. And every year since then, we've been giving thanks in memory of that day and thanks for what we ourselves have been given. Thanks for this country and our freedoms, for the blessings we've received... for family, for friends, for the harvest, and for the gift of salvation God has given us.
- God's gift of salvation and His blessings and guidance throughout each day
- My wonderful family
- My amazing coworkers
- The adorable kiddos I work with at the daycare
- My home
- My friends (particularly the kindred spirits π)
- My church
- The beautiful state I live in
- My country and our freedoms
- Our bountiful harvest this year
- Music (because who could possibly live without music??)
- History (because who could possibly live without history???!!)
- Good books (Note that I said "good")
- Anne of Green Gables
- And yes, Seonaid, I think I'll add Spider-Man π
- Last, but of course never least, for my blog friends... my online kindred spirits. You make my day with your comments and even by the stats that show your views π
Happy Thanksgiving, dear friends!!
(Although of course, by now, it's Black Friday, since I took too long to write this post and passed midnight.)
'Til Next Time,
Juliette
Hey! What happened to my formatting?? Why are all the lines suddenly far apart when the lines higher up are dying for lack of air?? π€π€¨
