Wisdom From The Garden

Dear People.

Have you ever considered what miracles potatoes are? Yeah, me neither😆 But that IS a musing that popped out of a clear blue sky as we were midway through the annual process of de-sprouting the potatoes in the cellar, left over after a winter of plenty. Sisters can be wise things sometimes….

And the musing came after this fashion, and to this point.

When the time is right, despite having been kept almost entirely in the dark ever since they were dug up, they will, when they think spring must be nigh unto coming around the corner, start sprouting. Believing, with no outside factors telling them so, or urging them on, that someday, somewhere, there will be light, they grow. Ohhhh do they ever grow. Long, purple, spindly shoots sticking up past the confines of the potatoes crates and boxes, overflowing, overshooting, just growing for all they are worth. (This is where the de-sprouting comes in.) And they keep growing until they are planted.

Believing that one day, there will be light.

Kinda profound, don’t you think?

Good things come from the garden.

Ps. You guys, this is terrible. I looked at all my Down-The-Rabbit-Hole places, and I HAVE NO PLACE TO PUT THIS. Something must be done….
