    1. I know... I keep watching this and it's making me cry 😥 Btw... Emi? Ruth? Seon? 😆

    1. Hehe 😁 Knew it was one of my three musketeers!

    2. Three musketeers... I like that 😏

Also, one of the (maaany) story ideas I have--but one of the few I am really really attached to--is a WWII story. Do you think you could share some resources that especially helped you in your own research?

    3. 😁 I'm pretty random...

Ooh, really??? Could you tell me any details about your story yet?

    4. That way, I'll have a better idea of what kind of resources you need...

    5. Of course! It's my little pet that I've been scheming and brooding over, but--cough, cough--first things first. *glares at Timothy* It's set in a small town of my own making somewhere in Virginia. The heroine is Maddie Lester--or Maddy, or possibly Mattie. 😉 Her brother Jack joins the Marines and fights in the Pacific, and ends up getting captured by the Japanese. Maddie's best friend's older brother is part of the D-Day invasion. There's also conscientious objectors serving as medics, timid girls turned into front-line nurses, deaths and near-deaths, and struggles and war efforts back at the home front.

How morbid, when I put it that way...

Oh, yes, and I have various and sundry ideas for life after the war for the ever-growing cast of characters. Heh. This is quite the monster of an idea. Hopefully it made sense...? Thank you so much!!

    6. Oh wow, you're going with both theaters! I chickened out of the Pacific 😆 Sounds a bit like what I'm doing... I can sure get a list of resources for you! I've got a ton of videos and articles that I can put together, I'll let you know when I've got it up.

Also, this is a bit unconventional, but I've been watching a lot of WWII movies to help "get the feel" for the time period. Not always a good historically accurate choice, but it helps a LOT. Saving Private Ryan, Hacksaw Ridge, Unbroken, Band of Brothers, The Longest Day, The Great Escape, etc. You have to be so careful with this genre though 😳 I've seen things I wish I could forget. Remember, the fast forward button is your best friend 😆

Morbid, eh? I know how it is. I've actually killed off a few characters, sadly 😥 Emi's freaking out trying to figure out who they are... 😏 She's pretty sure Ronnie is going to die. Although I can't confirm that fact at all, that would be a major spoiler.

    7. Thank you so so much!!! That would be amazing. ❤

Yiiiikes... I can hardly handle even a little violence in movies. But maybe I will, when I'm really ready to immerse myself in this project.

Ouch. Please, please, not Ronnie. I have had fleeting thoughts--someone's gonna die!--but I have no guess who...

      Thanks again!!

    8. Eh... then you probably won't wanna watch these... Except for The Longest Day... it's about D-Day, but it's an old movie, so they're really discreet about the graphic parts. The others are... 😳 Okay, they're really bad. At least you can skip around scenes if you need to.

Well... I can't give any specifics on account of spoilers. I do have a lot of characters going on here... a lot you haven't met yet... You can find some of them if you go onto the "Historical fiction" tab at the top of the blog, and from there to "Contemporary fiction", at the top of that page, click the link that says "exclusive access for Emi and Seon" (pretend it says Ruth too 😁) and from there, at the top of that page is a tiny link that says "The Squad". In that way, you can meet the unit that some of my boys end up with. 😁 That long ramble being given, I have to warn you that there will be soldiers from the squad that die. More than one. But yeah... I can't say who. I'm surprised actually... Ronnie's barely had any book time yet but the few people who have read it seem really to like his character. I'm thrilled... he's my favorite 🥰 Not that my opinion influences his story... characters have a way of writing the story themselves.

Sorry... I'm over-rambling 😆 Chapter 12 is up now, although I'm not sure I'm really happy with it... 🤔 Just a note... this is the last time you'll be seeing these characters as kids. They'll be growing up by the next chapter, skipping about four-ish years in time maybe? Young teenagers. That's just the blog version though, there might be extra chapters in the final publication.

    9. Okay, good to know... 😳

Cool! I'll check it out. And that must mean you are writing Ronnie excellently. 👏👏 Typically I'm drawn to the quieter characters because... I guess because I'm quiet.

Haha, don't worry about rambling! :) I'll go read chapter twelve!

    10. Same here... I'm pretty quiet myself 😏 That's good to know! I really struggled with capturing his character on paper. He's actually based on someone I know in real life, his personality, his looks, the way he talks... But it's so hard making someone "live" on a page!

And chapter thirteen is now available 😁
